Cedar Creek Farm's Trophy Room

We show our donkeys in a variety of shows, some of which are exclusively mule and donkey shows, others are horse shows in which we will be the only donkey showing. Showing the minis is a good way to promote the breed and let others know about these wonderful little animals. Below is a partial list of some of the more recent awards and Show Ring of the Cedar Creek Farm donkeys.

LN Redsonne

Sonne had a very short but extremely impressive halter and performance career. Although Sonne is now retired from the show ring, he has won two prestigious awards. In August 2000, Sonne received the Versatility Hall of Fame Award  from the American Donkey and Mule Society. In May 2001, Sonne received the  Merit of Breeding Award  from ADMS.

Show Ring (2013)

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 11-12, 2013. This show was the most prestigious miniature donkey show of the year as it was the NMDA National Miniature Donkey show for 2013. Fancy Fox was shown in 3 classes. She placed well in her large halter classes, she was 2nd in a large in-hand trail class and she placed first in the lead line class.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 12-14 2012. This was Fancy Fox’s first show. She placed well in every class, winning 1st in lead line race (green) and 2nd in In-Hand Trail-Green

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 21rd 2012. Fancy Fox was 3rd in halter, 2nd in the lead line race (beaten only by her sister April) and first in In-hand Trail competing with the open donkeys.

Show Ring (2013)

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 11-13, 2013. This show was the most prestigious miniature donkey show of the year as it was the NMDA National Miniature Donkey show for 2013. April had the best show of her career placing well in a large halter class as well as placing 1st in 6 out of 8 performance classes, placing 2nd in the other two. April was National Champion High Point Miniature Donkey (open ) at this show.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 12-14 2012. April was High Point Miniature donkey (open) at this show.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 21rd 2012. April was High Point Donkey .

Show Ring (2011)

April was again named NMDA End of Year High Point jennet (for 2010). This is the third time she has won this award.

Johnson Country Mule and Donkey Fundraiser, Smithfield, N.C. May 7, 2011. April was high point miniature donkey and over-all high point.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 23rd. April was Reserve High Point Donkey (beaten by her maternal half sister Nicolana!)

Show Ring (2010)

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 8-10. This is one of the oldest and most prestigious miniature donkey shows in the country. In performance April placed first in 7 out of 10 performance classes, placing second in the other 3 performance classes! In addition April placed 5th in halter. (Not bad for a brood jennet!) She was also High Point Donkey-Open.

TN State Fair, Nashville, TN Sept 18, 2010 (NMDA show). April was high point miniature donkey at this show.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 19th, 2010. April was again high point miniature donkey.

Show Ring (2009)

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 18th. This was April’s only show in 2009. Only one month after weaning her foal she was Reserve High Point Champion.

Show Ring (2008)

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 17th, 2008. This was April’s only show during 2008 as she is in foal. However, she did great at this show winning Reserve High Point Miniature Donkey with a 1st in Pole Bending, 1st in Clover Leaf Barrel race, 1st in In Hand trail, 1st in lead line race and a 2nd in halter-all while 6 months pregnant!

Show Ring (2007)

The All American Mule and Donkey Congress, April 27-29, 2007, Jackson, OH. The Highlight of this show for April was that she was Reserve High Point Champion (open), beaten only by her paternal half sister, Fancy!

Old Dominion Draft Horse and Mule show, Aug 11, 2007, Warrenton VA. In this show April was High Point Donkey. In most of the classes she competed against almost all draft animals. April was driven in many classes as a pair with Fancy. These two jennets earned enough points so that we won the Jim Horsfield Memorial High Point Teamster (most of these points were won in the log skidding and sled classes (based on time and precision) in which the two girls placed first in all 3 classes against all draft animals)! In addition we won the David Kriskovich Memorial High Point driver award.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, July 12-14, 2007, Shelbyville Tennessee. The highlight of this show for April was that she was High Point Donkey (open)!

Show Ring (2006)

All American Mule and Donkey Congress (NMDA), Jackson OH, April 28-29, 2006 The highlight of this show for April was that she was High Point Open miniature donkey.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show-National NMDA show. Shelbyville, TN, July 6-8, 2006. This was the National Show for the NMDA and the competition was fierce. April was National Champion In Hand Trail donkey (open) and National Champion in the Stake Race (open). She also placed well in many other classes.

Old Dominion Draft Horse and Mule Show, Warrenton, VA, Aug 12, 2006.
April was High Point Donkey at this show.

NJ. State Fair, Sussex NY, Aug 13, 2006.
April was High Point Champion and High Point Performance Champion at this show.

Person Co. Saddle Club, Roxboro, NC Sept 9,2006.
April placed 2nd in Log Skidding competing against all draft horses and mules! In addition she was 1st in Pleasure driving (pairs with Fancy) and 1st in Obstacle driving (pairs with Fancy).

TN State Fair, Nashville, TN Sept 16, 2006 (NMDA show).
At this show April was 1st in Pole bending, 1st in Snigging, 1st in Obstacle driving, 1st in hand trail (19 in class) 1st in Matched Pairs (w/Fancy). She placed well in all other classes entered.

Dixie Classic Fair, Winston-Salem, NC., Sept 30, 2006.
April was Champion halter jennet at this show. She was also 1st in the lead line obstacle class and 2nd in the in hand barrels class.

S.C. State Fair, Columbus, SC.,Oct 18-19, 2006.
April was Reserve High Point Donkey at this show.

NC. State Fair, Raleigh, NC Oct 9, 2006 (NMDA Miniature Donkey show).
April was Reserve High Point Donkey at this show.

NC State Fair, Raleigh NC., Oct 22, 2006 (Donkey and Mule show).
At this show April was shown as a driving pair with Fancy. They placed first in the pleasure driving class beating all draft mules. They placed 2nd in the pairs obstacle driving class.

Show Ring (2005)

All American Mule and Donkey Congress (NMDA), Jackson OHio, April 22-23, 2005: This was our first show of the year and April had a great show. She was named High Point Open Donkey by placing first in halter, two driving classes and coon jumping and second in 4 other performance classes.

Bedford County Fair (NMDA), Shelbyville, Tennessee, July 30, 2005. The highlight of this show was that April was High Point Donkey.

Lake Waccamaw, NMDA show, Lake Waccamaw, NC, Aug 13, 14, 2005. The highlight of this show for April was that she was Reserve High Point Open.

Old Dominion Draft Horse and Mule Show, Warrenton, VA, Aug 20, 2005. April placed first in 3 of the 4 driving classes in which she was entered (competing against all sizes of mules and donkeys).

Person Co Saddle Club Draft Horse show, Roxboro NC, Sept10, 2005. April was halter champion at this show. April was entered in three driving classes. She placed 1st in two of the driving classes and 2nd in the log skidding class (competing against all draft horses!).

Tennessee State Fair, NMDA show, Nashville, TN, Sept 17, 2005. April was High Point miniature donkey at this show.

South Carolina State Fair, Mule and Donkey show, Columbia, S.C., Oct 12-13, 2005. April was first in her halter class as well as being named High Point donkey competing against donkeys of all sizes.

N.C. State Fair NMDA show, Raleigh NC, Oct 23, 2005. April was in 8 NMDA performance class (open) placing 1st in 7 classes and 2nd in one class. She was named High Point miniature donkey.

Show Ring (2004)

Cheers For Ears/ADMS National Show, Lexington Virginia, May 2004: The highlight of this show for April was that she was ADMS NationalChampion Miniature Donkey, as well as NMDA High Point Champion (green).

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, Tennessee, July, 2004: The highlight of this show for April was that she was named NMDA High Point Green Miniature Donkey! In addition April was entered in two NMDA Open classes. She won first in both of those classes (Lead Line Race and Obstacle Driving).

Tennessee State Fair, Nashville Tennessee, Sept 19, 2004: April did very well in this NMDA show and tied for Reserve High Point, competing against donkeys in the Open classes.

Dixie Classis Fair, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Oct. 2, 2004: April placed 3rd in a large jennet halter class and was first in both performance classes offered (lead line trail and lead line barrel race).

North Carolina State Fair, Raleigh North Carolina, Oct. 11, 2004: In this NMDA show April placed well in a large halter classes and she placed first in 4 of the 8 performance classes entered.

April was named Hi-Point National NMDA Jennet for the year 2004 by the NMDA!

Show Ring (2003)

Cheers For Ears, Lexington Virginia, May 2003: April won first in both performance classes (19-22 entries) in which she was entered (In hand trail (green) and lead line race (green)).

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville Tennessee, July 2003: April won first in the very competitive trail class (green) as well as Reserve High Point Donkey (Green)

Ohio State Fair, Columbus, Ohio, 2003: April placed first in the matched pairs class with half sister April and placed in the other 3 classes entered.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 7-9. Niki had a great show and she was High Point Miniature donkey (green) at this show.

Person Co. Saddle Club, Roxboro, N. C. April, 2011. NIki placed first in all of the classes in which she was entered including, halter, pleasure driving and obstacle driving.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 23rd. Nicolana was Reserve Champion at halter and also High Point Donkey.

Show Ring (2010)

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 8-10. At this show Nicolana placed first in her halter class and then went on to win Reserve Champion miniature jennet at halter. This was also the first show in which “Niki” competed in the driving and jumping classes. In the driving classes Niki placed first in obstacle driving and the single stake race, and 2nd in pleasure driving, reinsmanship, snigging and the pole bending race. She was first in the in-hand trail class as well as coon jumping. Nicolana also placed 2nd in the in-hand jumping class and 4th in the lead line race. In addition, Nicolana was Reserve Champion High Point Green donkey.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 19th, 2010. Niki did very well at this show winning Champion Jennet at halter as well as Grand Champion Halter donkey! She did well in all performance classes but her half sister April is hard to beat!

Show Ring (2009)

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 18th. Nicolana was Reserve Champion at halter. In addition she placed well in all other classes in which she was entered including winning 1st in the in hand trail class.

Show Ring (2008)

The All American Mule and Donkey Congress, April 25-26, 2008, Jackson, Ohio, was the first show of the year for Nicolana. She was Champion Jennet at Halter and placed well in the two performance classes in which she was entered (In Hand Trail and Lead Line Race).

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 10-12, 2008: This was the first year for Nicolana at this large and very competitive show. She placed 4th in a large halter class, 2nd in a large In Hand Trail class (beaten only by her brother Cedar Creek Nickelsby) and she was 4th in the lead line race.

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 17th, 2008. Nicolana won first in NMDA yearling jennets, NC Born and Bred Donkeys and was NMDA Champion Jennet. She was also Best of Breed in halter!

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville, TN, July 9-11, was our NMDA National show. At that show Fancy was Reserve National Champion High Point Donkey (open).

North Carolina State Fair NMDA Miniature Donkey Show, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 18th. Fancy was again High Point donkey!

Fancy had a great show and was named National Champion High Point Miniature Donkey (green). In addition she was National Champion In Hand Trail donkey (green-49 entries) and National Champion Obstacle driving (green). She also placed 3rd in a large halter class and placed well in most of her other performance classes.

NC. State Fair, Raleigh, NC Oct 9, 2006. (NMDA Miniature Donkey show). Fancy was High Point Donkey at this show

At this show Fancy was shown as a driving pair with April . They placed first in the pleasure driving class beating all draft mules. They placed 2nd in the pairs obstacle driving class.

Show Ring (2005)

All American Mule and Donkey Congress (NMDA), Jackson OHio, April 22-23, 2005: This was Fancy's first show in which she was eligible for the driving and jumping classes as she just recently turned three years old. She was named Reserve High Point Donkey (Green). She placed first in 4 classes including, reinsmanship, obstacle driving, coon jumping and lead line race. She was second in 4 other classes.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show (NMDA), Shelbyville, Tennessee, July 2005. This was a very competitive show with over 50 entries in some of the performance classes. Fancy was in the ribbons in every class entered (9) except one.

Bedford County Fair (NMDA), Shelbyville, Tennessee, July 30, 2005. The highlight of this show was that Fancy was Champion Jennet at Halter as well as Reserve High Point Donkey competing with the open donkeys.

August 2005. Fancy has been awarded the Versatility Hall of Fame Award by the ADMS.

Lake Waccamaw, NMDA show, Lake Waccamaw, NC, Aug 13, 14, 2005. Fancy was Reserve Champion Halter jennet and High Point Green.

Tennessee State Fair, NMDA show, Nashville, TN, Sept 17, 2005. The highlight of this show for Fancy was that she was Reserve Champion halter jennet and Reserve Champion High Point, competing with the open donkeys.

South Carolina State Fair, Mule and Donkey show, Columbia, S.C., Oct 12-13, 2005. Fancy was Reserve High Point donkey competing against donkeys of all sizes.

N.C. State Fair NMDA show, Raleigh NC, Oct 23, 2005. Fancy placed first in every NMDA performance class (green) as well as placing first in halter. She was Reserve High Point miniature donkey competing against the open donkeys.

Show Ring (2004)

Cheers For Ears/ADMS National Show, Lexington Virginia, May 2004: Fancy did well in halter as well as placing 2nd in both the In Hand Trail (green,)(20 entries) and Lead Line Race (green).

The Great Celebration Mule & Donkey Show, Shelbyville, Tennessee, July, 2004: Fancy placed 3th in a large halter class and 3rd in a large (27 entries) lead in trail class.

North Carolina State Fair, Raleigh North Carolina, Oct. 11, 2004: Fancy placed first in the lead line trail class (17 entries) and also placed well in the lead line race and halter.

Show Ring (2003)

The Great Celebration Mule & Donkey Show, Shelbyville Tennessee, July 2003: Fancy was only entered in two classes at this show where she received 2nd in trail (green) beaten only by her half sister April. She also stood well in the very large halter class.

Ohio State Fair, Columbus, Ohio, Aug 2003: Fancy placed 2nd in the yearling halter class (jacks and jennets combined). She placed first in the matched pairs class with her half sister, April. She also placed second in the lead line race, beaten only by our Foxy.

Dixie Classic Fair, Winston Salem North Carolina, Oct 2002: 2nd Mini jennets at halter.

South Carolina State Fair, Columbus, South Carolina, Oct 2002: 2nd weanling donkeys at halter.

Nick took most of the 2007 year off due to an injury but he is back in the ring for 2008.

The All American Mule and Donkey Congress, April 25-26, 2008, Jackson, Ohio. Nick was Champion gelding at halter as well as High Point Green Donkey at this show!

All American Mule and Donkey Congress (NMDA), Jackson, OH, April 27-29, 2007. The highlight of this show for Nick was that he was High Point Green donkey! Nick placed 2nd in his halter class, 2nd in Showmanship, 1st in the In Hand Trail class and 1st in the Lead Line race.

Show Ring (2006)

All American Mule and Donkey Congress (NMDA), Jackson OH, April 28-29, 2006 This was Nick's very first show. He placed well in halter and was second (out of 14 entries) in the In Hand Trail class.

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show-National NMDA show. Shelbyville, TN, July 6-8, 2006. This was the National Show for the NMDA and the competition was fierce. Nick placed well in halter and was 3rd out of 49 entries in the green trail class.

NJ. State Fair, Sussex NY, Aug 13, 2006. Nick was first in his halter class (geldings and Jacks) and placed 2nd out of 20 entries in the In Hand Trail class.

TN State Fair, Nashville, TN Sept 16, 2006 (NMDA show). Nick was 3rd (13 entries) in the yearling jack/gelding halter class. He placed 2nd out of 19 entries in the In Hand Trail class and he was 3rd in the lead line race.

Dixie Classic Fair, Winston-Salem, NC., Sept 30, 2006. At this show Nick was first in his halter class, first in the In Hand Trail class, and 3rd in the lead line barrel race.

NC State Fair, Raleigh NC., Oct 9, 2006 (NMDA show). Nick was 1st in yearling geldings at halter, 2nd in In Hand Trail (green) and 2nd in the lead line race (green).

Show Ring (2005)

Sparky has just received the prestigious Supreme Driving Award from ADMS. He is only the second miniature donkey in the history of the breed to have earned this award!

Show Ring (2004)

Cheers For Ears/ADMS National Show, Lexington Virginia, May 2004: The highlight of this show for Sparky was that he was NMDA High Point Champion (open) as well as ADMS Reserve National Champion Miniature Donkey.

Tennessee State Fair, Nashville Tennessee, Sept 19, 2004: Sparky did very will in this show and won the NMDA High Point award.

Nortch Carolina State Fair, Raleigh North Carolina, Oct. 11, 2004: In this NMDA show Sparky was entered in 9 classes, He was first in three of these classes and second in four classes.

Show Ring (2003)

Sparky was shown at only 4 shows in 2003. Two of these shows were American Driving Society shows in which Sparky did very well competing against all horses. In addition, Sparky was shown in the South Carolina and North Carolina Stte Fair Mule & Donkey Shows. At South Carolina Sparky was Reserve High Point Donkey and at the North Carolina State Fair he was High Point Donkey.

Show Ring (2002)

Cheers For Ears, Lexington Virgiinia, July 2002:
The highlights of the show for CCF were that Sparky won High Point Miniature Donkey (open) and our farm was Reserve High Point Farm. All classes were NMDA Open classes. A summary of Sparky’s class wins is as follows: 2nd Geldings at Halter, 1st Coon Jump, 2nd Pleasure Driving, 1st Reinsmanship, 2nd Snigging, 1st Lead Line Race, 1st In Hand Trail, 1st Obstacle Driving, 2nd Gambler’s Choice Driving, 1st Stake Race.

The Great Celebration Mule & Donkey Show And National Miniature Donkey Association Show, Shelbyville, Tennessee, June 2002:
This was the National Show for the NMDA, and it was a very competitive show with some of the best donkey in the country attending. Sparky placed in every performance class (all open classes) in which he was entered with the exception of the lead line race. His placings were as follows: 5th In Hand Trail, 6th Reinsmanship, 3rd Pleasure Driving Working, 6th Obstacle Driving, 3rd Snigging, 3rd Stake Race, 4th Coon Jumping.

2nd place geldings at halter, 2nd place trail.

Cheers For Ears, Lexington Virginia, July 2001:
The highlights from this show were that Sparky was Champion Gelding as well as Hi Point Miniature Donkey (green) His placings were: 2nd showmanship, 1st geldings at halter and Champion Gelding, 3rd lead line race, 3rd lead line trail (green), 1st obstacle driving (green), 2nd pleasure driving (green).

North Carolina State Fair, Oct 2001:
1st geldings at halter, 2nd miniature donkey pleasure driving, 1st place cart barrel race, 3rd place Open Driving Championship.

South Caroline State Fair, Oct 2001:
3rd donkey geldings (all sizes), 2nd mini pleasure driving, 2nd gambler's choice driving.

In 2001 Sparky received his Versatility Hall of Fame Award.

Foxy & Brittney Wilhoit at the 2004 Nationals in Waco, Texas

Foxy is now living at Rock 'n' Roll miniature donkeys with Brittney Wilhoit. In their first show together (Aug 2004), Brittney won Reserve High Point Youth at the NMDA National Show in Waco TX. Way to go Brittney!! Brittney is pictured with Foxy jumping in the In Hand Trail class at Waco Texas.

Foxy has been named the NMDA National Champion High Point Jennet for 2003. She has earned this title by winning points in both halter and performance classes in NMDA shows in 2003. Photo taken at the Cheers for Ears show, 2003 by J.H. Jones.

Cheers For Ears, Lexington Virginia, May 2003:
Foxy was entered in 11 classes (both halter and performance) and won first place in almost 1/3 of her classes and placed well in most of the remaining classes. She won NMDA Reserve High Point (open).

The Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show, Shelbyville Tennessee, July 2003: The highlight of this show for Foxy was that she was High Point Miniature Donkey (Open) having won 5 first places, and placing well in the other classes entered.
Foxy has received her first Versatility Hall of Fame Honor Roll from the American Mule and Donkey Soc.

Ohio State Fair, Columbus Ohio, Aug 2003: Foxy placed first in 3 of the nine classes entered, and did well in the other classes.

The North Carolina State Fair was Foxy’s final show for 2003. In this NMDA show Foxy was Reserve High Point Donkey.

Foxy was Reserve High Point Green Miniature Donkey in this National Show. Foxy placed in every performance class in which she was entered. Her placing were as follows: 1st In Hand Trail, 4th Pleasure Driving Working, 3th Obstacle Driving (open class), 1st Snigging (open class), 1st Stake Race (open class), 2nd Coon Jumping.
