The Foals of Cedar Creek Farm

(All photos are clickable to enlarge)

As we have a very small, select band of top quality brood jennets, we only have a few foals each year. This allows us to spend lots of time socializing and training each baby before it goes to its new home.

Foals of 2015

Cedar Creek  Sparks My Fancy

Miniature donkey for saleMiniature donkey for sale

This beautiful red boy (DOB 6/13/15) is the first foal by our champion herd sire, Sparks. His dam is our beautiful Fancy, perhaps one of the winningest miniature jennets in history. Fancy was not only a multiple grand champion at halter, but she was NDMA High Point Jennet of the year, and High point Jennet, both open and green at The Great Celebration, Shelbyville TN. Given his mom and dad, this little boy can’t help but be great in either performance or halter! He is bright red with a large white star on his forehead. He is short coupled with a gorgeous little head and outstanding legs. He is pictured at about 4 days of age. Thank you to our webmaster for thinking of the perfect name for this gorgeous boy!

Also see him on our "For Sale" web page.

Cedar Creek  Little Red Fox

This gorgeous red boy (DOB 6/12/15) has the best of bloodlines. He is by LN Foxbow and out of Julie.. He is likely the last foal of Julie’s irreplaceable bloodlines. Champion producing Julie., is one the last of the great Jennie Sam daughters, one of the best producers in the miniature donkey industry. We have kept two of Julie’s daughters in our herd and they are outstanding. We expect this little boy to be as nice. He is going to be dark red and he has a pretty little head and great legs. At this point he looks to be herd sire quality. As both mom and dad are under 32”, we expect this little boy to be the same. He is very friendly and he can’t wait to greet anyone that comes in the pasture. He is pictured at 5 days of age. We hope to get some more pictures soon.

Also see him on our "For Sale" web page.

This little girl has everything one could want in a miniature donkey; conformation, one of the top pedigrees in the industry, small ancestors and a personality that just does not quit! She was bold, friendly and inquisitive from day one. She is stocky, with a short coupled body and beautiful straight legs, both front and back. They don’t get much better than this little red girl.

Cedar Creek  I Love Lucy

This gorgeous little red jennet (dob 11//09) by our senior herd sire, LN Redsonne, and out of Julie, one of our best jennets, is everything we expected her to be based on the quality of mom and dad and her outstanding pedigree. While a number of breeders have expressed interest in acquiring a foal by Sonne x Julie (one of the very few Jennie Sam daughters still alive) we have decided to keep this little girl. Julie is getting on in years and we have kept none of her foals thus far. Hopefully, Julie will give us a few more foals in the next few years which will possibly be available for purchase.

Cedar Creek Flaming Vixen (6/30/08 dob, 21.5") is by our Jr. herd sire, Foxbow and out of our Valentino 50th daughter, Muffy. We have anxiously awaited the birth of this little foal since we decided to bred Muffy to Foxbow and we were not disappointed (see more photos of sire and dam on our Brood Jennets and Herd Sires pages). In fact, Vixen is the most striking red jennet we have ever had born at Cedar Creek Farm. She is really as vivid bright red as shown in the photos and it looks like she will also have flashy leg garters. Conformationally she is outstanding in every way. We have decided to keep her for show and breeding as we have not retained any Foxbow get.

Ty is a beautiful, rich dark brown and he is outgoing, friendly and inquisitive. He is stocky and short coupled with a beautiful head and nice legs. As three of Polly's foals have been among of my best show donkeys, Ty should make an excellent show donkey or a loveable pet.

Cedar Creek NicklesbyCedar Creek Nicklesby

Cedar Creek Nicklesby (dob 5/26/05 ) is by the great show jack, LN Nicodemus, (owned by Jerry and Eileen Cosgray in Indiana) and out of our Polly. We were hoping to get a jennet by this cross to add to our brood jennet band, but that was not meant to be. This little brown jack was 21.75" at birth so he will likely mature around 32". Both sire and dam are Merit of Breeding winners and Nicodemus not only has his VHOF title, but he is the only miniature jack to earn the ADMS Supreme Driving Award title. With his bloodlines, Nicklesby should be a top show and performance donkey. We have not decided if we will keep him as a show donkey or offer him for sale.

Cedar Creek Julie SamCedar Creek Julie Sam

Cedar Creek Julie Sam (Sunset Acres Slick x Belle E Acres Little Red Julie) (dob 4/24/05 ) This striking red jennet (look at those leg garters!) is the first foal Julie has had for us since we acquired her, and we were not disappointed! She has the color, pizzazz, and conformation to be noticed in the show ring. Cedar Creek Aneda RoseCedar Creek Aneda Rose

Cedar Creek Aneda Rose (dob 4/27/05). We liked this bloodline cross so well (by our junior herd sire, Foxbow and out of our old foundation jennet, LN Neda,) that we decided to try it again. This little jennet is as nice as her two full sisters, Cedar Creek Shadow Dancer, and Cedar Creek Cameo, and as a bonus, she is a sorrel! Aneda Rose is square and stocky with the great legs of her parents. She has a bold outgoing temperament and she is friendly as a puppy. During this photo session she thought the water lilies in the pond looked like grass so she jumped right in! Even that did not scare her. She shook off the mud and water lilies hanging from her ears and just kept on going. With her conformation and pedigree she will make a great show or brood jennet. (Sorry, she has already been sold).

Cedar Creek Annything Goes (3/12/ 05) ~ This lovely little brown jennet (22" @ birth) has the straightest legs, both front and back as well as a short coupled body and a pretty little head. The play was the final performance directed by a dear friend, Theresa G. , who is retiring after having dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching high school students. We thought Mr. Porter (and Theresa) would not mind a little poetic license in naming this little jennet. Anny is by our Jr. herdsire, Foxbow and out of our former show jennet, Tiny Bubbles both of whom can be seen on the "Our Herd" page.
